The walk back to Shamukaar took about ten minutes. We had barely been travelling for full minute when a figure stepped out into the tunnel ahead in a way that suggested he had something on his mind. He was a human male who was pretty well concealed in a dusty cloak. His hand was resting on what looked like either a light longsword or a rapier. I couldn't help but notice it had an elaborate basket guard around its hilt and was reminded of Brak's claim that a noble with a "flashy sword" had recruited Pakus. After a few tense moments the figure introduced himself as "Travack". He made it clear that he knew that the Sharn city-watch had sent us down into The Cogs and was interested in making us a job offer. Apparently he was trying to retrieve a family heirloom that had been stolen by a thief. Travack had managed to track the thief to the ruins we had just departed and he was prepared to pay us for its return. The heirloom, we were told, was an amulet. It was round with eight points and made mostly from gold. It had an inscription on one side as well as a small piece of a map. On the other side was what he described as "protrusions". After a quick discussion we told Travack we would keep an eye out for it but promised nothing. Travack seemed satisfied with this and informed us he would find us latter, presumably when we left The Cogs, to see if we had it.
For a few minutes Travack preceded us back to the canyon-sided cavern where Shamukaar could be found and then slipped away into the crowds.
